Despite the best efforts of the British "summer weather" to dampen our spirits--MCACT members donned their wellington boots and macs to attend our BBQ/Treasure Hunt and Fancy Dress Day at The Coppins, Bewdley on Sunday 7th September. Once again our hosts Trevor & Vera Clarke kindly allowed us to hold the event at their lovely home The Coppins, and the rain held off to make it a very enjoyable day.
This year the legendary MCATC fancy dress competition made a welcome return to The Coppins, and once again the standard of entries was superb - a big thank you to all those who joined in and produced such fantastic costumes! Committee member Janet Smith had a very tough job deciding on a winner, with first prize going to Millie and Snoopy (Shi Tzu) owned by Bob & Chris Spreckley, for their entry 'Strictly Canine Come Dancing'.
Second prize went to Helen Fleming and Jenna as the 'Airedale in Sheeps Clothing', third prize was won by Sue Hopkins and Phoenix as the French Onion Seller and fourth was Meg as Silent Night. Below are pictures of all the entries, we are sure you will agree they were all excellent!
The day was rounded off by an unexpected flypast from the recently restored Vulcan Bomber, who flew right over us, which was a truly spectacular sight!
